Jay-Z has broken his silence on the criticism he’s recieved over headling Rock Festival Glastonbury.
Earlier last month, Oasis band member Noel Gallagher spoke out and said I’m not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It’s wrong.

Now Hova has spoken out. Jay believes its a natural progression
“We don’t play guitars, Noel, but hip-hop has put in its work like any other form of music … This headline show is just a natural progression. Rap music is still evolving …

From Afrika Bambaataa DJ-ing in the Bronx and Run DMC going platinum, to Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince winning the first rap Grammy, I’m just next in the line … We have to respect each other’s genre of music and move forward …
He later added
I’ve never ever had a show that’s caused this much of a stir so I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve never been involved in anything this controversial. What’s the big deal about doing a show? “I guess it’s heritage and people hold that dear to their heart and see it one way but that’s how the world is. The world has to change. It just can’t be one thing - and that’s the beautiful thing. That’s why people feel so passionate about an event.”

We’ve been a big supporter of Jay-Z headling Glastonbury. We think he will tear it down because hes a professional. When he performs, he gives the audience an experience, he has great presence, never forgets his lines, energy and most of all, HE DOESNT SHOUT. Alot of performers shout and you cant hear a word but Jay aint like that. Alot of people just think of 99 Problems but Jay has countless hit records. People have to remember he played at Royal Albert Hall with a string orchestra. Trust us he’ll bring Linkin Park on and he’ll tear it down.
But we’ve spoken to some Rock fans who basically said, Jay-Z headling Glastonbury is like Radiohead headlining the ‘Rock The Bells’ Festival.
We say give Jay a chance.
P.S. This is how the situation should be handled, no need for insults.
