Another exclusive from ‘The Hip Hop Chronicle’. Stacee Adamz is a West Coast artist working with some of the biggest artists in Hip-Hop.

He’s already worked with The Game and Styles P and with his newest mixtape  Infiltration Mixtape Volume 1(hosted by DJ Kay Slay & DJ Skee), Stacee Adams is back with some of the biggest names in the game (Busta Rhymes, Papoose, Akon, Big Lou.

i been listening to rap music since i was a kid,i talkin bout n.w.a.,dj quik,to L.L.cool j,heavy d,rakim,..you know?,but i didn’t start writing till i was about 16.i just started writing verses and shit,but i didn’t know how to count bars and my verses would be like 30 bars…but ever since then i just kept workin on my craft and learning how to write songs with hooks and the whole 9.but before that when i would kick my shit for my homies or whatever,kats would be like damn you got lyrics!so i just kept at it,and here i am today.

2) What was the turning point that made you realise your talent for rapping?

when i started writing and kickin my flo for my homies..like i said my niggaz was like ok!! you got skills!

 

3) Now your from California but have lived in South Central LA and Watts, what are your earliest memories of West-Coast rap?

my earliest memories of

 westcoast rap was W.C. and the mad circle,king t,n.w.a.,dj quick second to none.

 

4) What are your thoughts on the current state of hip-hop?

i think it’s aight..i mean that whole hip hop is dead shit aint whas poppin.i mean i felt what he was tryin to say but that dont go for everybody.but as far as the current state of hip hop i think its aight,you got youre gimmick rappers and all that,but it’s dudes,and female rappers,who kickin that shit you know?and i know im one of them kats wit a mean pen game..so we good right now…

5) Lets get into your current project, the new mixtape is called Infiltration Mixtape Volume 1 and your working with DJ Kay Slay and DJ Skee. How did you hook up with them?

i hooked up wit slay thru my manager and homeboy wack from my hood..from pakoima piru.that nigga fucks wit everybody and everybody fucks wit him because he just a solid  dude. So yeah,i got plugged in with them thru wack.

6) You’ve worked with Styles P and The Game and on the current mixtape, you’ve worked with Busta Rhymes, Mac 10 and Akon, what was it like working with these rappers and what did you learn from them?

it was kool man i mean those dudes are pros you know?,and so it was real solid.i learned alot as far as the energy levels,and concepts and hooks and all that..it was real.i got alot of respect for they musik.

7) Tell us about the producers you worked with on this project?

i got j-wells on there,i got jimmy love who did the joint i got wit busta,i got the zombies,also my homeboy chuck heat,gypsy stokes who is akons artist,and complex..he did the joint wit me and papoose.who else….black key,detail and rio.

 

8) What can we look forward to from this mixtape?

you can look forward to that original westcoast sound with a kat who can spit.real concepts that the people can relate too.you could pop that shit in and just let it play without skippin a track.

 

9) What’s your favourite track from it and why?

i got a couple of em..i would have to say the hood still in me with big wy because it’s so real. welcome back to c.a. with glasses because we was givin to they ass bar for bar,lol..foreal.and tattoo tears because that’s about some real hood shit that had to do with shit that happened in my neighborhood…yeah them three.

 

10) What can we expect from Stacee Adams in the near future?

Alot more good musik man…and im gettin better as i go so just keep checkin for me. Im tryin get that 106 & Park, t.r.l . VH1 love so jst keep checkin for me and ima keep givin yall this real shit !!!ya dig????
